Belmont Cottages | Full-Time Temporary Ongoing Position

MPA Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of Apex Housing for a dedicated and compassionate Residential Worker – Complex Needs to join the team at Belmont Cottages. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, and challenging behaviours, while working within a supportive and person-centred environment.

The Role

As a Residential Worker, you will support individuals with a range of learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and challenging behaviours. You will work closely with service users to help them achieve their goals, maximise their independence, and participate fully within their communities. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and support while building positive relationships with residents and colleagues alike.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and respond to the varying needs of service users across four residential cottages.
  • Promote the rights, independence, dignity, and wellbeing of individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.
  • Deliver person-centred support in line with individual Person Centred Plans.
  • Respond effectively and professionally to changing needs and challenging situations.
  • Support individuals who may present with severe learning disabilities, complex behaviours, mental health needs, and multiple disabilities.
  • Implement appropriate behavioural support strategies and intervention frameworks.
  • Work within agreed management protocols and support plans.
  • Encourage service users to participate in community-based activities and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
  • Conduct Health and Safety audits and ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Utilise IT systems to support administrative and reporting requirements.

Essential Criteria

  • Option 1: QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification). Minimum of 1 year's experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour within a community or residential setting. Previous administrative experience. Experience using IT systems and providing administrative support, including regulatory, scheme, and resident reporting. Current NISCC registration, or willingness to obtain registration within six months of commencing employment. Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Access NI Disclosure check.
  • Option 2: Minimum of 2 years' experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour within a community or residential setting. Previous administrative experience. Experience using IT systems and providing administrative support, including regulatory, scheme, and resident reporting. Current NISCC registration, or willingness to obtain registration within six months of commencing employment. Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Access NI Disclosure check.

Desirable Criteria

  • QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • ECDL, CLAIT, or equivalent computer literacy qualification.
