Are you an experienced Buyer ready to take the next step in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment? MPA Recruitment are partnering with their Global Market Leading Engineering Client to recruit a full time permanent Senior Buyer. Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Senior Buyer to play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials that keep our operations moving. This role will be based in Omagh, Co Tyrone. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team where your expertise will directly impact production efficiency, supplier performance, and overall business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing activities across a range of materials including steel, hydraulics, electrical components, and fabricated items
- Ensure timely procurement to meet project deadlines and support production schedules
- Work closely with sales, engineering, planning, and production teams to align supply with demand
- Analyse purchasing data to identify risks, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities
- Maintain accurate records within ERP systems and support continuous process improvements
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while driving performance and value
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ purchasing experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong experience using ERP systems
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with strong follow-through
- Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
- Sound judgement and decision-making ability
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Stock-taking experience within a manufacturing environment
