MPA Recruitment are looking for a reliable and hardworkingGeneral Labourerto join our team in a well established construction company in our local area. You will be responsible for performing a variety of physical tasks to support skilled trades, site operations, and project requirements. This role is vital to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, bricklayers, electricians, or machine operators as needed.
  • Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Prepare and clean up construction sites or work areas.
  • Use hand tools and small power tools under supervision.
  • Perform basic demolition, digging, lifting, and carrying tasks.
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the site.
  • Set up temporary structures such as fencing, signage, or scaffolding (if trained).
  • Carry out deliveries and site errands as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a general labourer or in a similar manual role is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety on site.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Punctual, dependable, and willing to take initiative.
  • Valid CSCS card (if required by site or location).
  • [Optional: Valid UK driving licence.]

Desirable (Not Essential):

  • Manual handling or Health & Safety training.
  • Experience with tools or plant equipment.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., PASMA, Working at Heights, Asbestos Awareness).
