MPA Armagh are working with the SHSCT to help recruit a Band 3 Financial Assessments Team Officer for the Newry area.
Job Summary
The postholder will support the Financial Assessments Team in the provision of financial assessment services to the Trust. The postholder will assist in the preparation of financial assessments, raising of invoices and recovery of income due to the Trust. He/she will provide cover in the absence of colleagues, and will deputise for the Income Team Leader across a range of responsibilities as and when required.
Key Duties:
- Provided comprehensive administrative support to Financial Assessors, including preparing correspondence, maintaining records, and assisting with financial assessments.
- Processed invoices, payments, receipts, journals, and other financial transactions accurately using financial management systems, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures.
- Assisted with income recovery activities by monitoring outstanding accounts, issuing invoices and reminders, and resolving payment queries in a timely manner.
- Maintained accurate financial records and documentation, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with GDPR and financial regulations.
- Supported the management of client finances, including processing benefits, contributions, personal allowances, and related financial transactions.
- Assisted with reconciliations, financial reporting, audits, and the preparation of management information to support decision-making and statutory requirements.
- Investigated and resolved financial discrepancies, escalating complex issues where appropriate.
- Worked collaboratively with colleagues across departments to meet deadlines, provide service cover, and ensure the efficient delivery of financial services.
- Contributed to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the review and development of financial systems, processes, and controls.
Essential Criteria:
- 4 GCSEs at Grades A‑C including English Language and Maths equivalent / higher qualification AND 1 year's experience in a clerical/administrative role OR 2 years experience in a clerical/administrative role.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel or equivalent.
