About the Role: On behalf of our client, MPA Recruitment is seeking to appoint Clerical Officers to support services within the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy healthcare environment, providing vital administrative and clerical support to frontline services. Working as part of a professional team, you will contribute to the efficient day-to-day operation of hospital and community-based departments while delivering a high standard of customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be highly organised, customer-focused, and able to manage a variety of administrative tasks within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration & Clerical Support: Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support within a healthcare setting. Maintain accurate filing systems and records, both electronic and paper-based. Process incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation. Input, retrieve, and update information using Trust computer systems. Process and collate information to support service delivery.
  • Reception & Customer Service: Undertake reception duties and provide a professional first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff. Respond to enquiries and relay information accurately and efficiently. Take messages and direct queries to the appropriate personnel. Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Appointment & Records Management: Arrange patient appointments and maintain appointment systems. Prepare and transport medical records and other documentation as required. Assist with diary management and meeting arrangements. Ensure information is recorded accurately and maintained in line with data protection requirements.
  • General Office Support: Provide general office support including photocopying, scanning, filing, and document preparation. Support colleagues in maintaining efficient administrative processes. Assist with a range of duties to support the smooth running of the department.

What We’re Looking for?

Essential Criteria: Applicants must demonstrate one of the following: 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C (or equivalent), including English Language OR NVQ Level 2 in Administration (or equivalent qualification) OR At least 1 year's administrative or clerical experience. In addition, applicants must demonstrate: Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, or equivalent software packages. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work in a busy and changing environment. Experience maintaining filing systems, records, and office administration processes.

Desirable Criteria: Previous experience within a healthcare or public sector environment. Experience in word processing or data entry roles.
