We are currently recruiting an experienced Gas Engineer to join a busy and expanding Mechanical & Electrical team covering the North West region.

This is an excellent temporary-to-permanent opportunity for someone looking for long-term career prospects within a well-established organisation.

The Opportunity

Working across domestic and commercial properties throughout the North West, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance repairs, servicing, installations and fault-finding on plumbing and heating systems.

The successful candidate will work within a supportive team environment, delivering a professional and reliable service to clients and tenants.

This role offers excellent work-life balance with Monday to Friday working hours and the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and responsive maintenance works on both void and tenanted properties.
  • Diagnose faults on domestic and commercial plumbing and heating systems.
  • Service, repair and replace gas boilers and associated heating systems.
  • Install sanitary ware, including toilets, baths, basins and hot and cold water storage systems.
  • Carry out Legionella testing where required.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain excellent customer service when working within occupied properties.
  • Ensure work areas are left clean, safe and tidy at the end of each job.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and electronic documentation accurately.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.
  • Provide support across the wider team when required.

Essential Requirements

  • Time-served or appropriately qualified Gas Engineer.
  • Previous experience within the construction, maintenance or engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and commercial plumbing and heating systems.
  • Gas Safe Registered with experience servicing domestic gas systems.
  • Valid CSR Card.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working within the social housing sector.
  • Experience using PDA, smartphone or mobile working devices.
  • Access NI clearance.
  • OFTEC registration.
