MPA are delighted to be recruiting for a Band 6 Physiotherapist. We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident, self‑motivated individual who has the ability to work as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team. This is a temporary ongoing position for 3 months initially. Part‑time hours available, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Based in a hospital setting in Coleraine.

The post holder will work as a member of the Physiotherapy team and will undertake highly skilled and specialised assessment and treatment of patients. They will be responsible for their own caseload and work as a lone practitioner as required, providing specialist advice to carers/relatives. The post may be rotational between specialist acute, neurological services and community areas.

Criteria
  • 2 years’ post‑registration clinical experience
  • 12 months experience in adult acute or community settings
  • Evidence of post graduate professional development relevant to Acute and Rehabilitation
  • BSc/MCSP in Physiotherapy
  • Currently Registered with Health + Care Professions Council
  • Hold a current and full driving licence which is valid for use
  • Access NI check - can be done through MPA
Duties
  • To hold responsibility for own caseload ensuring delivery of an efficient, effective service in line with available evidence, national guidelines and professional standards in a variety of clinical settings
  • To undertake appropriate comprehensive assessment of patients taking account of social, physical and psychological factors and use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis of their condition
  • To formulate individualised management and treatment plans
  • To use a wide range of treatment skills and options to provide a specialised programme of care, optimising function and developing independence
  • To formulate accurate prognosis and develop comprehensive discharge plans
  • To work within the legal framework to assess capacity and gain informed consent for physiotherapy assessment and treatment
