MPA Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting a Band 3 Cardiac Investigations Support Worker to join our team in the Coleraine Area. This role will be based within a hospital setting and has an immediate start available. Working hours are Monday – Friday 8.30 to 4.30, with a pay rate of £12.75 per hour.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist Clinical Physiologists during examinations, including safe moving and handling of patients.
  • Support patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring comfort, dignity, and reassurance.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
  • Carry out patient preparation and screening procedures in line with departmental protocols.
  • Perform and assist with diagnostic procedures including ECGs and ambulatory monitoring after training.
  • Assist with equipment use, image transfer, and promptly report any faults or malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate patient information checks and support clear communication with clinical staff.
  • Act as a chaperone when required, respecting patient privacy, culture, and individual needs.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, health and safety, with all policies and procedures.
  • Support overall service delivery, including patient transfers, stock monitoring, and effective team working.

Administrative

  • Undertake reception duties including greeting patients and managing front desk activity.
  • Book patient appointments and prepare worklists in advance of clinics.
  • Input, update, and retrieve patient data using systems such as CVIS and PACS.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and paper filing systems in line with Trust policy.
  • Answer telephone calls, manage queries, and deal with patient-related enquiries professionally.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection legislation.
  • Prepare, copy, and distribute clinical documentation and paperwork as required.
  • Maintain stock levels of consumables and support smooth departmental workflow.
  • Support training and induction of new staff and participate in ongoing professional development.

CRITERIA

  • English and Maths GCSE (Grade A–C or equivalent) AND one of the following:
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a healthcare environment in a direct patient contact role.
  • OR NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in healthcare plus at least 1 year’s experience in a healthcare environment in a direct patient contact role.
  • OR 5 years or more experience working in a healthcare environment in a direct patient contact role.
