MPA are currently recruiting on behalf of our public service client for a Junior Data Analyst in the Belfast Area. The post holder will be responsible for managing the development, production, and delivery of complex statistical, qualitative, and/or quantitative reports for emergency and non-emergency or corporate activity-based information for Executive Directors, Senior Managers, and external Health and Social Care Organisations or agencies as required.

He/she will provide specialist knowledge in interpretation and analysis of information, define reporting/information requirements, and ensure that methods of information delivery meet the needs of users both in terms of requirements and capabilities.

Location: Belfast

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

Salary: £19.10

Job Description:

  • To produce detailed and timely Trust level corporate activity reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for distribution to Executive Directors, Area Managers, and other senior staff.
  • To produce reports and analysis to investigate activity trends within the Trust and ensure data accuracy through cleaning.
  • To analyze data and produce reports for returns to the Department of Health, Health and Social Care Board, and other agencies.
  • To act as a contact for queries from external stakeholders regarding statutory returns.
  • To communicate complex findings clearly to staff and stakeholders at all levels, ensuring key insights are well conveyed.
  • To define information requirements for complex requests, ensuring clear communication of issues.
  • To possess in-depth knowledge and experience in statistical methodologies.
  • To handle multiple large datasets and perform appropriate analyses.

Essential Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, especially Access databases and Excel Pivot tables; familiarity with web applications.
  • A degree in Computing, IT, Information Management, or related fields with at least one year of relevant experience in information analysis or statistics. Alternatively, five years of relevant experience with a strong background in information analysis or statistics.
  • Highly skilled in data analysis, interpretation, and presentation; effective communication in meetings.
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality in handling data.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
  • Knowledge of visual basics/VBA.
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL.
  • Understanding of HSC data standards and modernization initiatives.
