About the Role: On behalf of our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), MPA Recruitment is inviting applications for the role of Legal Secretary within the Legal Services Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and organised individual to join a professional legal team supporting housing management services. The postholder will assist with a range of administrative and clerical tasks, ensuring that the legal team’s processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role provides valuable experience in legal administration within a high-performing public sector organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Closing old legal files and retrieving closed files from offsite storage.
- Updating and maintaining accurate records on relevant computer systems.
- Scanning and digitising documents to ensure full electronic records are maintained.
- Assisting the legal team with general administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Maintaining confidentiality and security of sensitive information at all times.
- Supporting the Legal Services Team with ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Criteria:
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Basic IT skills, including the ability to work confidently with computer systems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a busy legal office environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in an administrative or office support role (not essential).
- Familiarity with filing, scanning, and document management processes.
Additional Information:
A Basic Access NI Check is Required at a cost of £16.
