About the Role

MPA Recruitment, on behalf of our client, is recruiting a Logistics Support Technician to support Fleet, Engineering & Supplies and Operational Area Commands.

This hands-on role is essential to maintaining operational readiness by transporting specialist equipment, maintaining vehicles and operational assets, supporting emergency incidents, and ensuring equipment is tested, inspected and certified.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering logistics support across Northern Ireland while contributing to emergency response and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Logistics & Operational Support
  • Deliver operational equipment, supplies and specialist vehicles across Northern Ireland.
  • Support emergency incidents by transporting equipment, personnel and welfare resources.
  • Participate in the regional standby rota to provide out-of-hours operational support.
  • Maintain accurate stock, inventory and asset records using electronic management systems.
  • Fleet & Equipment Management
  • Carry out vehicle inspections, refuelling and routine maintenance checks.
  • Test, inspect, calibrate and certify operational equipment in line with service standards.
  • Prepare, issue and receive operational vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are deployment ready.
  • Support equipment decontamination, repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Warehouse & Distribution
  • Load, unload and transport goods safely using mechanical handling equipment.
  • Manage stock movements, deliveries and collections across operational sites.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of deliveries and maintain inventory records.
  • Assist with stocktaking and warehouse operations.
  • Health, Safety & Service Support
  • Maintain safe working practices and ensure equipment is stored securely.
  • Support site maintenance, cleaning and grounds upkeep where required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal departments and operational teams.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement and undertake additional duties as required.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a service delivery environment involving LGV/HGV driving.
  • Full UK Category C (HGV/LGV) driving licence.
  • Full UK B+E driving licence.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and management information systems.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Counter Balance and Reach Forklift Truck licence (or willingness to undertake training).

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Experience in a technical or maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of Fire & Rescue Service equipment.
  • Category D1 driving licence.
