MPA Recruitment is currently looking for a Band 4 Social Work Assistant to join our experienced team in the Ballymena area. This is an exciting opportunity to provide essential support within community settings and develop your skills and knowledge in a fast-growing sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality care and support under the direction of social work professionals.
About the Role
Working closely with Social Workers and Senior Practitioners, you will support service users and carers through direct engagement and administrative coordination, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and in line with individual care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange and secure services such as care packages, Direct Payments, and short breaks
- Carry out direct work with service users in line with care/support/protection plans
- Communicate regularly with colleagues through daily, weekly, and monthly updates
- Complete carer assessments and reviews to identify support needs
- Support the Team Manager with monthly validation of independent services
- Collate and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly statistics (e.g. Direct Payments, Core Respite returns)
- Monitor the quality of care delivered and measure user/carer satisfaction
Essential Criteria
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification and experience combinations:
- NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 3 in a care-related subject + 1 year of experience in a social care role
- NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 2 in a care-related subject + 2 years of experience in a social care role
- 4 GCSEs (Grades A–C) + 3 years of experience in a social care role
In addition, candidates must:
- Hold current NISCC registration (Social Care part of the register)
- Have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Be able to pass a satisfactory enhanced Access NI check
