MPA are currently recruiting for Band 4 Social Work assistants to join our experienced team in the Magherafelt area. The role is to provide ongoing assessment and support within a Children’s team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in a rapidly growing sector. The pay rate will be £12.86 per hour and working hours of Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Job Duties
· Take responsibility for the procuring and securing of services i.e. Packages of care /
Direct Payments / Short Breaks.
· Undertake direct work with service users as directed by the Social Work Team Manager, Senior Social Work Practitioner or Social Worker in keeping with any support/protection/care plan and in their cases.
· Reporting of information to colleagues on a daily, weekly, monthly basis as required
· Support carers and identify need through completion of carer assessments and carer assessment reviews.
· Assist Team Manager in the monthly validation of independent service provision.
· Collate weekly / monthly / quarterly annual statistics as required e.g. Carer Assessment return, Core Respite return, Direct Payments etc.
· Monitor the quality of care delivered and service user and carer satisfaction with the service.
· NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 3 in a care-related subject and 1 years’ experience working in a social care role
OR
· NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 2 in a care-related subject and 2 years’ experience working in a social care role
OR
· 4 GCSEs (Grades A-C) and 3 years’ experience working in a social care role
· Currently hold registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council on the Social Care part of the register.
· Hold a full current driving license valid for use in the UK and have access to a car.
Satisfactory enhanced access NI check
Pay £12.86 per hour
· Weekly pay
· Holiday allowance
· Temporary post for six months initially with possibility of extension
· Full time and Part Time hours will be considered
