MPA Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer (Sourcing) on behalf of the Business Services Organisation (BSO) Procurement and Logistics Service (PaLS). This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy procurement team supporting Health and Social Care Northern Ireland services through the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services in line with procurement regulations and value for money principles.

Role Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase goods and services in line with procurement procedures
  • Support tendering and quotation processes
  • Provide procurement advice and support to customers
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, invoices and queries
  • Monitor supplier performance and contractual compliance
  • Use procurement and e-commerce systems to manage purchasing activity
  • Work closely with finance departments to resolve invoice queries
  • Support continuous improvement within procurement services
  • Assist with training and support of junior staff where required

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant business, commercial, financial or administrative experience
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to analyse information and make effective decisions
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous procurement or purchasing experience
  • Knowledge of procurement, logistics or financial systems
  • Relevant qualification such as CIPS or CILT
