MPA Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Planning Officer on behalf of our public sector client. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional to contribute to the delivery of housing and regeneration projects that make a real impact within local communities.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of the Social Housing Development Programme, working across site identification, land assessment and housing-led regeneration initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting housing development programmes in areas of identified need
  • Undertaking site identification and feasibility studies
  • Carrying out land and asset evaluations and estate-based assessments
  • Assisting with housing-led regeneration projects
  • Providing planning advice across the organisation
  • Producing housing market analysis and housing need reports
  • Supporting the development of housing investment plans
  • Engaging with key stakeholders, including local councils
  • Preparing reports and departmental briefings
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and governance procedures

Criteria

Essential:

  • RTPI accredited qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience within planning or regeneration
  • Degree in Planning or a related discipline
  • Full UK driving licence or access to transport
  • Basic Access NI check required

Desirable:

  • Membership of RTPI, IPI or RICS (P&D), or working towards

Applicants must demonstrate experience in at least two of the following:

  • Community-led regeneration
  • Site identification and assessment
  • Land asset management
  • Use of GIS within planning projects

Pay and Hours

  • £16.90 per hour
  • Full-time (37 hours per week)
  • Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
  • Holiday Fund
  • Weekly Pay
