MPA Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Band 2 Pharmacy Assistant on behalf of the Northern Health & Social Care Trust. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy pharmacy team supporting the safe and effective delivery of medicines and pharmacy supplies across hospital and community settings. This role would suit candidates with strong organisational skills, good attention to detail and an interest in healthcare or pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving, checking and shelving pharmacy stock
  • Preparing and issuing ward and departmental orders
  • Assisting with stock control and stock rotation
  • Supporting pharmacy reception and telephone enquiries
  • Delivering pharmacy supplies and prescriptions to wards/departments
  • Assisting with dispensing and pre-packing medicines
  • Maintaining accurate records using pharmacy computer systems
  • Supporting infection control and health & safety procedures
  • Assisting with returns processing and stock checks
  • Providing high standards of customer service at all times

Essential Criteria

  • Applicants must have either:
  • 5 GCSEs (Grades A–G) including English Language and Maths at Grade C or above OR NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Support Staff
  • Candidates without the pharmacy qualification may still apply but will be required to complete the relevant training programme if successful.
