This senior leadership role oversees tendering, project delivery, compliance, HR coordination, and operational support. The focus is on driving successful bids, ensuring projects are delivered from tender through to completion, and maintaining strong compliance and business systems. Candidates from manufacturing, engineering, or door systems industries are preferred, but full training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tendering, Pricing & Project Delivery
    • Identify and manage tender opportunities (public and private sector)
    • Lead the full tender process from enquiry to contract award
    • Develop and submit competitive pricing models
    • Oversee end-to-end project delivery from tender stage to completion
    • Ensure submissions are accurate, compliant, and timely
    • Manage contract negotiation and risk control
    • Oversee project handover into operations
    • Monitor project performance against tender assumptions
  • HR & Team Management
    • Lead and support cross-functional teams
    • Conduct performance reviews and support staff development
    • Manage holidays, onboarding, and disciplinary processes
    • Maintain training records and certification compliance (e.g. CSCS, IPAF, PASMA)
    • Liaise with HR consultants for legal compliance
    • Support payroll processes and staff changes
    • Manage training plans and CITB funding submissions
    • Maintain on-call rota
  • Operational Leadership
    • Chair weekly management and divisional meetings
    • Track actions and ensure accountability
    • Support operational teams and engineers
    • Oversee toolbox talks and engineering meetings
    • Drive performance and engagement across teams
  • Compliance & ISO Management
    • Take full ownership of ISO systems and audits
    • Ensure all compliance documentation is up to date
    • Manage RAMS, inspections, fire logs, and training records
    • Oversee incident reporting (accidents, near misses, RIDDOR)
    • Lead Safe Systems of Work and toolbox talks
    • Ensure ongoing audit readiness
  • Financial, Procurement & Insurance Support
    • Approve stock and manage procurement decisions
    • Review supplier pricing and identify cost savings
    • Support financial reviews and debtor management
    • Assist with insurance renewals and documentation
    • Liaise with insurers and accounts teams as required

Person Specification

  • Essential
    • Senior experience in operational, commercial, or general management
    • Strong background in tendering and contract delivery
    • Experience managing projects end-to-end
    • Knowledge of HR processes and compliance systems
    • Financial and procurement awareness
