MPA Recruitment are working in partnership to recruit a driven, solutions-focused Senior Manufacturing Engineer to take ownership of key production processes and lead continuous improvement across their modern manufacturing facility. What You’ll Be Doing
- As the Primary Process Owner, you’ll work closely with manufacturing, quality, OpEx and safety teams to develop safe, efficient and reliable production methods.
- Your work will directly support improved productivity, reduced costs, and a stronger competitive advantage.
- Develop, evaluate and enhance manufacturing methods through new processes, modifications and capability improvements.
- Lead time studies, process mapping, value-stream mapping and workload balancing to drive measurable process improvements.
- Apply Lean tools to reduce cycle time, scrap, rework, inventory, overtime and space usage while improving safety and on-time delivery.
- Facilitate continuous improvement events and coordinate Lean training across the workforce.
- Analyse workforce utilisation, space requirements, material flow, routing and handling to optimise layouts and workflows.
- Estimate production times, capacity requirements and costs to support management decisions and project planning.
- Work with Design Engineering to improve manufacturability and support design-for-manufacture initiatives.
- Use statistical methods to forecast manufacturing requirements and future capability needs.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) transitions from engineering to production, ensuring robust processes and validated methods.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions, tooling requirements and assembly documentation.
- Specify new equipment and design jigs, fixtures and tooling to meet production and quality standards.
- Research, analyse and maintain technical data from multiple sources.
- Always follow company policies, procedures and safety standards.
- Support special projects and additional duties as required.
What You’ll Need
- A third-level qualification (degree or foundation degree) in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing engineering role with proven process optimisation achievements.
- At least 1 year in a leadership or team-leading capacity.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, technologies and quality systems.
- Demonstrated experience in hours/cost-reduction projects.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and 3D modelling software.
- Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Excellent communication, organisation and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Logical, methodical problem-solving approach.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and drive change.
