Our client, a world-class manufacturer of crushing and material handling machinery, is expanding their engineering team in Omagh. As a Continuous Improvement Design Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in driving product innovation, enhancing equipment performance, and supporting the development of next-generation tracked conveyors, hopper feeders and telescopic stackers. What You'll Be Doing

  • Working under the guidance of the Senior Engineering Manager, you'll collaborate with a wide range of teams: engineering, sales, manufacturing, purchasing and service to deliver smarter, safer and more efficient equipment designs.
  • Lead design activities from concept through to production for new products and continuous improvement projects.
  • Drive Quality Improvement Team (QIT) initiatives using the D8 process.
  • Lead cost-reduction projects to increase customer value and improve product competitiveness.
  • Deliver product enhancements and engineered-to-order solutions.
  • Provide technical support to the Service team for field-based product issues.
  • Perform testing, analysis and validation of new and existing products to support product development goals.

What You'll Need

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in equipment design and manufacturing (mechanical, structural, hydraulic, electrical/control systems).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes including metal cutting, forming and welding.

Desired Criteria

  • Experience designing complete tracked mobile plant from concept to production.
  • Experience using FEA tools for structural analysis.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic system design and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of engines, drivetrains, hydraulics and electrical systems used in mobile equipment.
