We are seeking a Custom Projects Design Engineer to support the design and development of advanced material handling machinery used across the aggregate and quarrying industries. What You’ll Be Doing:
- You’ll play a key role in the full product development cycle from concept through to production working on equipment such as tracked conveyors, hopper feeders, truck unloaders, and telescopic stackers.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing conceptual and final design solutions for bespoke projects
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and service
- Supporting existing product lines and contributing to new product development
- Performing engineering analysis including load calculations, stress analysis, hydraulic circuit evaluation, and performance assessments
- Creating and interpreting engineering drawings and standards
- Ensuring all work aligns with safety, quality, and manufacturing best practices
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in equipment design and manufacturing
- Strong understanding of mechanical, structural, hydraulic, and electrical/control systems
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), Microsoft Office, and ERP systems
- Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative approach to design
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
