Care Assistant

MPA are currently recruiting for Care Assistants on a permanent basis for our client based in the Garvagh area. This position will be based in a Residential Home Setting. The pay rate is £12.90 - £13.00 per hour depending on qualifications. The role will involve providing care and support to residents within the Christian ethos and aims of the Council for Social Witness. Role Responsibilities Providing a high standard of personal care to residents Providing assistant at meal times as well as recording food and fluid intake Promoting independence where possible Providing support with mobility Making beds Communicating with residents and making them feel comfortable Essential Criteria Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people; Willing to undertake relevant training e.g. induction training, or NVQ/QCF level 2; Proficiency in understanding, communicating and writing in English to level required by the duties of the post; Basic numeracy required by the duties of the post (as endorsed by appropriate qualification or use of numeracy skills in a work or home environment). Be willing to work additional hours to fulfil the requirements of the Home Willing to maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council 6 months experience in a similar role Willingness to complete Access NI checks Further Information Salary: £12.90 per hour (no NVQ) £12.96 per hour with NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care £13.00 per hour with NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care Hours: Part-time 24.66 hours per week Full-time 37 hours per week Both day duty and night duty posts are available.
