How to prepare for a job interview at MPA Recruitment Ltd

Know Your Numbers

As an Estimator, you'll be dealing with quotes and pricing all day long. Brush up on your numerical skills and be ready to discuss how you approach cost calculations. Familiarise yourself with common materials and labour costs in the industry to show you’re prepared.

Master the Technical Jargon

Since this role involves working with technical information, make sure you understand the basics of mechanical and electrical estimating. Be ready to talk about any relevant experience or education you have, and don’t hesitate to ask questions if something isn’t clear during the interview.

Show Off Your Organisational Skills

The job requires keeping project records organised and up to date. Prepare examples of how you've managed multiple tasks or projects in the past. Highlight any tools or systems you’ve used to stay organised, especially if they relate to estimating or project management.

Communicate Clearly

Good communication is key in this role, so practice articulating your thoughts clearly. Think about how you would explain a complex quote or technical detail to someone without a background in estimating. This will demonstrate your ability to work well with internal teams and clients alike.
