Pay: £12.80 per hour

MPA are currently recruiting Kitchen Assistants for our clients in the North Down area. These roles will be based across a variety of settings including nursing homes and care facilities.

Key Duties:

  • Prepare and assist with providing meals as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of food.
  • Prepare tables and trays ready for use.
  • Serve meals to residents.
  • Assist in receiving food and supplies from delivery personnel.
  • Clear tables as necessary.
  • Carry out regular kitchen and dining room cleaning, including the use of industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Adhere to all Food Handling and Environmental Health regulations.
  • Maintain the kitchen area to a high standard in line with Health & Safety and Environmental Health regulations.
  • When required, the post holder may need to act up to cover periods of leave.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 3 months' previous experience working in a professional kitchen setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to demonstrate personal initiative.
  • Ability to relate well to residents.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
