Role Overview
The Room Leader will lead, mentor, support and inspire the nursery team to deliver exceptional care and education. The role involves promoting child welfare, health and safety, safeguarding, and maintaining strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of early years practitioners.
- Ensure high-quality care and education that meets each child’s developmental milestones.
- Promote child welfare, health, safety and safeguarding practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and professionals.
- Implement EYFS standards and legislation within the classroom.
- Use effective communication techniques with children and adults.
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
- Previous experience in an early years setting – ideally in a leadership role such as Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner or Early Years Educator.
- Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments.
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and relevant legislation.
- Ability to build trust and strong partnerships with colleagues and parents or carers.
- Strong communication skills with children and adults.
