Role Overview: Early Years Chef – Bright Horizons, Reigate. Base location: Holmesdale Road with coverage of 12 nurseries. Salary starts at £28,776 per annum (dependent on qualification/s and experience).
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present age‑appropriate meals for all nursery children with minimum wastage.
- Ensure all dietary requirements, including food allergies, are met and communicated clearly to staff and parents.
- Lead cookery club sessions and support other nursery activities such as BBQs, fetes, and staff meetings.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a cooking role within a domestic or commercial setting.
- Passion for nutrition and the ability to inspire healthy eating.
- Sound knowledge of managing dietary requirements and food allergies.
- Food Safety – CIEH Level 2 or equivalent, required to be passed on day one.
- Knowledge of COSHH.
- Excellent communication skills with colleagues, children, and parents.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
