Location: Based around M25 / East London Cheshunt Slough Harlow Dartford – Travel to our nurseries – up to 2 hours of travel

Salary: Up to ÂŁ35,000 + Car Allowance

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our Facilities team at Bright Horizons. You will play a vital role in maintaining safe, vibrant, and welcoming nursery environments across our nursery settings. This role involves travel to multiple sites and requires a strong eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and a passion for creating child-friendly spaces.

Key Responsibilities

Survey and evaluate surfaces; prepare time, material, and cost estimates.

Plan and carry out decoration work in coordination with Nursery Managers.

Select and mix paints according to company specifications.

Prepare work areas, complete risk assessments, and ensure safe systems of work.

Prepare surfaces (e.g., filling cracks, sanding, priming) and apply finishes (e.g., emulsion, gloss, wallpaper).

Clean and restore work areas post-completion, ensuring all tools and materials are stored safely.

Log completed work using the CAFM system, including photos and material usage.

What We’re Looking For

2–3 years of hands-on experience in interior and exterior painting, or completion of an apprenticeship/trainee scheme.

Skilled in preparing and finishing a variety of surfaces (plaster, wood, metal).

Confident using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and sanding tools.

Strong sense of form and colour with attention to detail.

Familiarity with COSHH regulations and safeguarding practices.

Physically fit, able to work at heights, and willing to travel.

Basic computer skills for logging tasks and communication.
