The Leadership & Management Training Manager is a key role in the Talent and Development team of Bright Horizons UK, working collaboratively with the Head of Talent & Development to oversee the design and delivery of leadership and management training for corporate and full service business leaders and aspiring leaders. The role involves analysing data, creating measurables, and writing and delivering training from Level 2 to Level 7 equivalence (Senior Leadership Team) to support best practice in leadership and management across the organisation.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Analyse data provided by the Talent Team to produce detailed training needs analyses.
  • Create and deliver training both in person and virtually to meet the identified business needs.
  • Measure the impact of training interventions against Leadership competencies, internal audit results and Ofsted ratings, and present results for analysis with the Talent Manager.
  • Support and offer expert guidance on Talent and Development pathways for leaders and managers from recognition through to delivery of programmes.
  • Promote the HEART culture, values and behaviours to drive quality improvement and pedagogical excellence.
  • Build robust relationships with cohorts, providing professional guidance and exemplary organisation to support successful completion of Leadership programmes.
  • Deliver and manage agreed professional development initiatives, proposals and projects for Leadership and Management innovations in collaboration with HR and Operations.
  • Provide high‐quality training and professional development activities to recognised leadership talent to secure high‐quality leaders across the business.
  • Support leaders through the running of psychometric assessments and training, ensuring data privacy at all times.
  • Support the Leadership & Management Development agenda through implementation of measurable competencies and Talent programmes that positively impact retention and promotion data.
  • Develop new training programmes as requested in collaboration with HR, Operations and the UK Leadership team to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Take responsibility for own personal and professional development, accessing high‐level training and development activities that inform leadership skills based on national and international best practice.
  • Use data and knowledge of leaders to contribute to the succession planning strategy as required.
  • Lead on the psychometric strategy for the business to provide a cyclical holistic view of talent.
  • Contribute to the Succession strategy with the Pathways Manager and the Head of Talent & Development.
  • Act as a credit figurehead for Bright Horizons internally and externally in the field of Leadership & Management.

Essential Experience

  • Highly experienced in delivery of training to beginner and executive groups, with proven experience of designing and delivering face‐to‐face and digital training within medium/large providers.
  • Ability to create challenging content for Senior Strategic Leadership using theoretical and real‐world examples.
  • Skilled in facilitating discussions and maintaining a positive environment when managing disagreements or differing opinions within a team or group.
  • Significant experience teaching and designing training in leadership and management related subjects for leaders at all levels.
  • Demonstrable track record of supporting quality improvement through the implementation of successful training development activities in partnership with operational and UK leadership teams.
  • Experience of developing high‐performing leaders who can inspire teams to drive results.
  • Ability to write clear, concise training to meet the needs of a variety of audiences, highlighting salient points and driving improvement.
  • Ability to use IT to support all aspects of development and delivery of relevant quality training and use of data to monitor quality and measure the impact of professional development activities.
  • Experience in delivering degree/apprenticeship/work‐based learning standards in the field of Senior Leadership (i.e. Level 7/Postgraduate).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current apprenticeship standards, including functional skill requirements in the field of Leadership & Management.
  • Experience of leading and influencing large teams in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with reading psychometric assessments for individuals and teams to support reflection and performance (desirable).
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Industry (desirable).

Essential Qualifications

  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Broad academic education including Maths and English at GCSE or Level 3 equivalent.
  • First Degree in Leadership & Management or related subject (essential).
  • MA/MSc/MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Leadership and Management or similar qualification to demonstrate core knowledge around theoretical concepts and relevant literature (essential).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Training Qualification at Level 3 or equivalent (essential).
  • Member or Fellow of ILM/CMI or similar (desirable).
  • Qualified Coach (Desirable).
