Type: Fixed Term Contract 9 months / Full Time / Remote / 37.50 hours per week / Some travel to our HO in Northampton

Purpose of Role: Acting as an advocate of the Bright Horizons Safer Recruitment Policy, as an Onboarding Officer you will own the end-to-end onboarding process for all new hires for nurseries within your allocated division, as well as providing advice and support to ensure the company always complies with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Working alongside the Talent Acquisition team to identify all requirements and compliance needs for any candidates offered employment within one of our nurseries.
  • Working to clear KPI targets.
  • Responsibility for all onboarding checks for new starters – DBS Checks, right to work checks, obtaining suitable references, and checking of qualifications as per Bright Horizons Safer Recruitment Policy.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for compliance enquiries.
  • Confidence to make informed suitability decisions, in line with Department of Education (DfE) guidance, and Bright Horizons policies and processes.
  • Assist with weekly compliance reports to management and key stakeholders.
  • Create sound internal controls for your division and monitor adherence to these.
  • Contributing to the drafting and revision of company policies, when required.
  • Keep abreast of changes in regulation and legislation, especially relating to the childcare sector.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role – high volume background and right to work checks in recruitment, HR or regulated environment.
  • Experience in checking and verifying qualifications in Early Years.
  • Strong communicator, who can effectively communicate to all levels, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, whilst working towards and exceeding targets, to ensure compliance demands of the business are met.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Knowledge of right to work and pre-employment checks.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office.

Experience Desirable:

  • Experience of Workday system (desirable).
  • Experience of compliance within the childcare sector (desirable).
