Nursery Practitioner – flexible working (Bright Flex / Bank) at Bright Horizons Livingston Nursery. The post supports children from 3 months to 5 years in a purpose‑built environment with sensory rooms, a garden with a mud kitchen and dedicated play areas.

Location & Salary

Livingston – £14.24 per hour (dependent on qualification and experience).

Role Summary

Work as part of a Bright Flex / Bank team to deliver the Scottish Curriculum framework through engaging, educational activities. Support colleagues and ensure day‑to‑day tasks such as room tidying, preparation and compliance with safeguarding policies are completed.

Responsibilities

  • Engage children in activities aligned with the Scottish Curriculum.
  • Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating learning experiences.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment.
  • Prepare materials and resources for daily activities.
  • Record and communicate child development progress to parents.
  • Attend team meetings and share best practices.
  • Apply safeguarding and child‑protection policies consistently.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
  • Previous experience working with young children (e.g., nursery practitioner, nursery nurse, early years educator, nanny, childminder).
  • Passion for creating engaging learning experiences.
  • Strong communication skills with children and adults.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and collaborative attitude.
