The predicted salary is between 30368 - 30368 £ per year.

Salary starting from £30,368 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience). Mileage will be paid for travel. Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, permanent. The position is based at Harwell Nursery with regular travel to other nurseries in Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Bristol.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to nurseries within the region to cover for permanent chefs during leave, sickness or absence.
  • Prepare, cook and present age‑appropriate food for all children with minimal wastage.
  • Ensure all dietary requirements and allergies are met and communicated to nursery teams.
  • Keep accurate kitchen records and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Support nursery management with food ordering.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, children and parents.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a commercial catering role.
  • Sound knowledge of managing dietary requirements, particularly food allergies.
  • Food Safety certification – CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – passed on day 1 in post.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and across multiple sites.
  • UK driving licence, clean driving record and access to own vehicle.
