Position Details

Nursery – Fulbourn Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary: £14.15 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Location: Fulbourn, Cambridge

Hours: 29 hours per week – 5 hours on Monday, 8 hours on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Role Overview

As an Early Years Assistant, you will work as part of a team caring for babies and children up to the age of five. You will engage children in interactive play, activities, reading and encourage their curiosity, supporting colleagues with each child’s development towards key milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Look after babies and children up to five years old.
  • Facilitate interactive play and learning activities.
  • Read and promote literacy development.
  • Support and collaborate with colleagues in meeting children’s developmental milestones.
  • Build trust and partnerships with parents and colleagues.
  • Use a variety of communication techniques with children and adults.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children (ideal but not essential).
  • Experience in a nursery, bank staff, teaching assistant, early years educator, nanny, childminder or similar role.
  • Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trust.
