Position: Early Years Apprentice (2 positions available) – Bright Horizons Chelmsford Day Nursery & Preschool, 51 Centenary Way, Springfield, Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 6AU.

Salary: £26,662.20 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Location: Chelmsford, CM1 6AU.

Role

As an Early Years Apprentice you will work as part of a team to look after babies and children up to the age of 5. You will engage the children in interactive play, activities, reading, and encourage their curiosity to create learning opportunities that support development. With the support of your assessor, you will attend all required training and coursework for completion of your formal qualification, and reflect on new ideas and initiatives to enhance development and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Look after babies and children up to 5 years of age.
  • Plan and facilitate interactive play and learning activities.
  • Read and support children’s literacy development.
  • Promote children’s curiosity and learning through play.
  • Reflect on practice and use feedback to improve.

Qualifications

  • English qualification: GCSE Grade C / Level 4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2.
  • Willingness to complete the qualification alongside the apprenticeship if not already held.
  • Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential.
  • Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child.
  • Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with colleagues and parents.
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with children and adults.
