Early Years Apprentice – The Laurels Nursery, Caterham
Salary: From £29,432 per annum (dependent on qualification/s and experience).
Location: Caterham, Surrey.

Key Responsibilities
- Look after babies and children up to 5 years old as part of a team
- Plan and deliver interactive play, activities and reading sessions to support children’s learning
- Attend and complete required training and coursework for formal qualification under the supervision of an assessor
- Reflect on practice and proactively introduce new ideas and initiatives, incorporating feedback to enhance development and learning
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment in line with safeguarding policies
Qualifications & Requirements
- English qualification at GCSE grade C / Level 4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 (or willingness to complete while on apprenticeship)
- Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential (e.g., Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder)
- Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
- Ability to build trust and strong working partnerships with colleagues and parents
- Effective communication with children and adults
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme
- Completion of a DBS check will be required before appointment
