We have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer within our Operations Team in Omagh.
About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer will gain experience working on the development and improvement of existing manufacturing systems, procedures, and equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Safety & Quality – Participate in Safety actions (Risk Assessments, Rigging Plans & Ergonomic evaluations) to ensure compliance. Understand & review causes for defects to reduce rework and enable Right‑First‑Time Manufacturing.
- Production Support – Provide hands‑on engineering support for Production, troubleshoot technical issues and act as the Manufacturing Engineering liaison to Quality, Engineering Design, and Production Control.
- Continuous Improvement & Lean deployment – Lead CI projects using Lean tools to reduce waste, shorten takt times and drive efficiency gains.
- Problem Resolution – Establish containment for manufacturing stoppages, perform structured Root Cause Analysis / Problem Solves ensuring timely implementation and verification of corrective actions.
- Engineering Change and Process Control – Prepare for & manage ECO implementation maintaining clear records, providing feedback and validating effectiveness.
- New Product Development – Participate in the NPPD Process through acting as a representative for production with regards to advice on tooling/fixtures requirements for build, establishing safe work processes, and overseeing the manufacturing of prototypes on the production floor.
- Operating Methods – Conduct cycle time studies and labour analysis to seek opportunities and support Production Control through capacity forecasting; identify & evaluate new methods or equipment to support the production process.
- Documentation & Digital Systems – Create and maintain Standard manufacturing instructions, production BOMs, Kanban processes and digital systems that support efficient production flow.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum HNC / HND Engineering Qualification or demonstrate extensive relevant knowledge through on‑job experience.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle) would be advantageous.
- Competent in use of Microsoft packages.
- Experience of 3D modelling software would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
