Join our Team: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: MP Farlough
Working hours: Monday - Thursday 7.45-5.00 & Friday 7.45-12.30
The role of the Electrical Engineer is to serve new product development (NPD), drive continuous improvement and support the aftersales & commissioning teams of the Terex Washing Systems teams. The Engineer will be responsible for design of 3 phase control systems, managing projects, ensuring targets & delivery dates are met, as well as providing technical expertise, interfacing with, and acting as the link between functions, and providing inter department communications.
Responsibilities
- Engineering Design: Create accurate electrical schematics, bill of materials and technical documentation.
- Design PLC & HMI software (Allen Bradley & IFM Systems) and write functional specifications for software.
- Ensure all project documentation and technical files are compiled and stored correctly.
- Support operations teams on improvement projects and focused improvements on Terex products.
- Support product cost reduction and product reliability improvement efforts.
- Directly contribute to and support continuous improvement in line with business demand.
- Occasionally perform equipment commissioning, installation and testing both in the company and on site.
- Program Management: support NPD projects ensuring requirements are interpreted accurately and provide technical support on existing and new products.
- Design products that comply with company and industry standards and legislation with regard to machine safety, health and safety procedures.
- Support customers, helpdesk and service team with issues on site.
- Travel will be required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Science discipline.
- Technical expertise in designing 3‑phase electrical control systems.
- Familiarity with electrical automation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of 3‑phase electrical systems.
- Project management and analytical skills.
- Experience in the heavy equipment industry.
- Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunction.
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives and Soft Starters.
- Experience in electrical control panel design (Zuken E3 Series / ePlan preferred).
- Experience designing 24Vdc control systems, including EtherNet/IP, CANbus, Modbus networks.
- Development of PLC software advantageous.
- Knowledge and understanding of hydraulic systems desirable.
- Independent and self‑motivated.
