We make pioneering brands like Firefox, the privacy-minded web browser. Our work focuses on diverse areas including AI, social media, security and more, while never losing our focus on our core mission – to make the internet better for people.

The Role

We’re a global team of makers, builders, and doers, united by our mission to make the internet a better place. Within that, the Product Communications team sits at the center of how we tell Mozilla’s story, creating high-impact narratives, press opportunities, and campaigns for our core brands, including Firefox. Mozilla is looking for a Senior Communications Manager based in the UK to join this team on a 1-year fixed-term contract and drive communications across the European region. Reporting to the Director of Product Communications, this role will lead and execute integrated communications strategies across key EU markets, with a primary focus on product storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Drive communications across key EU markets, supporting product launches, campaigns, media relations and storytelling.
  • Develop and execute media strategies that build awareness and clearly differentiate Mozilla.
  • Craft clear, compelling messaging and content across press materials, blogs, and executive communications.
  • Build and manage relationships with media across tech, consumer and business outlets.
  • Identify and develop proactive storytelling opportunities tied to product and cultural moments.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure aligned communications.
  • Prepare and support senior executives for media and public engagements as needed.
  • Lead cross-functional communications efforts with strong ownership and follow-through.
  • Track performance and contribute to ongoing improvement of communications impact.
  • Support reactive communications, including media inquiries and sensitive issues.

Key qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in communications, PR, or media relations (in-house or agency), ideally within consumer, tech or product-driven organizations.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communications plans, not just execution.
  • Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives for broad audiences.
  • Experience supporting or collaborating with senior executives, including preparation for media and public engagements.
  • Strong understanding of the European media landscape, with experience working across EU markets preferred.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and operate effectively in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • High judgment, strong integrity, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
  • Fluency in English required; German or another European language is a strong plus.
  • Passion for Mozilla’s mission and a genuine interest in shaping a better internet.

Commitment To Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
