Moxie People is partnering with a South Wales local authority to recruit a permanent Litigation Solicitor into its established Legal Services team. And here's the important bit: you don't need previous local authority experience. The team is genuinely open to solicitors coming directly from private practice who have a grounding in litigation, court procedures and advocacy and would like to take their career in a different direction. This is a broad in-house litigation position, providing legal advice and support across a varied range of council services. Civil litigation Criminal and regulatory litigation Advocacy in the Magistrates' and Civil Courts Providing practical legal advice to internal stakeholders There's plenty of variety and an opportunity to build experience across areas of law you may not ordinarily encounter within private practice. You'll need to be a qualified solicitor or barrister with a current practising certificate , with advocacy experience before the courts and a sound understanding of court procedure and evidence. Civil litigation Property or housing litigation Regulatory work General litigation Another contentious discipline with relevant court and advocacy experience Previous local government experience isn't essential, and applications are welcomed from lawyers at different stages of their career, including those relatively recently qualified.
