Job Title: Housing Manager
Location: Grimsby or Doncaster (with regional travel)
Position Type: Full-Time, Ongoing Temporary (Long-term cover)
Salary: Β£35,914.50 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)
Are you an inspiring leader with a background in social housing, supported living, or care? We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Housing Manager to join a progressive housing organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manager to oversee a team of Housing Support Officers (HSOs) across a diverse regional portfolio, ensuring high-quality, person-centred service delivery.
As a Housing Manager, you will step into an ongoing temporary role addressing a gap in the team. Based out of either Grimsby or Doncaster, you will lead an established team of approximately 8 HSOs covering a patch that includes Doncaster, Barnsley, Skegness, Nottingham, Wisbech, Grimsby, and Hull. Because this role covers a wide geographic area, a valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage the selection, development, performance, and day-to-day operations of your HSO team. Conduct regular 1:1s and appraisals to support staff well-being and drive high performance.
- Housing & Tenancy Management: Lead your team to deliver and evidence intensive housing management to vulnerable individuals. Implement effective strategies to sustain tenancies and prevent anti-social behaviour (ASB).
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all housing schemes operate in strict compliance with legal, statutory, and health and safety requirements (including Fire and Licensing). Maintain standards defined by the Regulator of Social Housing and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
- Tenant Satisfaction: Maximise tenant involvement, address service issues using feedback loops, and ensure service delivery meets strict targets.
- Operational Excellence: Adhere to internal HR procedures and quality control processes while collaborating with the Regional Manager to constantly improve standards.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven leadership and management experience within a complex housing, support, or care environment.
- Strong knowledge of tenancy management, compliance, and intensive housing management for vulnerable people.
- Excellent relationship-building skills to manage partnerships with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role (ideally registered on the DBS Update Service for an immediate start).
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
