Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home Area: Vale of Glamorgan, St Athan Contract: Permanent, Full time Hours: 35 hours per week Days: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm or 8am to 4pm Salary: £36,480 We are looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker who is keen to progress into a management position – or a Deputy Manager who would like to move into the charity sector. After spending time in the role, there are real progression and training opportunities, with options to complete the Level 4 and Level 5 QCF and on to a Registered Manager role in the future. We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Deputy Manager to help shape and manage a brand-new Registered Children’s Home supporting young people aged 11+. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home Leading, inspiring, and developing a team of Residential Childcare Workers Ensuring the home delivers the highest standards of care in line with CIW regulations Creating a psychologically informed and trauma-aware environment Building strong relationships with young people, staff, families, and partner agencies Managing rotas, risk assessments, safeguarding, and compliance Covering the occupational shift (days/nights, sickness, and annual leave) What We’re Looking For Experience working in a registered service and within safeguarding frameworks A strong understanding of trauma-informed care and positive behaviour management Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach, even under pressure NVQ Level 4 in Management in Care (or willingness to work towards it) Registration with Social Care Wales (or eligibility to register) What’s on offer?
