Do you want to support young people (16+) who are experiencing homelessness in Wales? How about working for a charity that puts people at the heart of everything they do?
We are searching for a small team of Support Assistants, based in the Caerphilly area, to work within an amazing project that provides safe, secure accommodation for young people.
What's does it look like?
- Full time 2 days 2 nights per week
- Ongoing temporary contract
- A mixture of days and waking nights
- Rotating shift pattern on a rolling rota
- Payrate is £13.45 per hour + extra payments if you cover a sleep-in
- Employee wellbeing programme
- Enhanced holiday and other leave entitlements
What's the job?
- Supporting young people between 16 and 25
- Working with individuals who have experienced homelessness
- Understanding trauma and integrating trauma informed practice into your work
- Providing reliable advice and guidance
- Following the safeguarding and health & safety policies
- Working with other services (multi-agency working)
- Covering a mixed rota of days and waking nights
What do we need?
- Someone with a real passion for helping others
- A solid understanding of the causes of youth homelessness
- Compassion, understanding and resilience
- Driver with a vehicle would be highly desirable
- A DBS on the update service
- Someone who is willing and able to work days and nights
- Flexibility around shifts and assisting when needed
