HR Manager

Location: Caerphilly | Hybrid Working

Salary: Circa Β£60,000

Contract: Permanent | Full Time

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys balancing operational HR with strategic projects and wants to play a key role in shaping a growing organisation.

Moxie People is delighted to be partnering with a growing, purpose-led organisation to recruit an experienced HR Manager at an exciting point in its journey.

Operating nationally within a highly regulated, people-focused sector, our client has grown through a number of acquisitions and is now bringing its businesses, people and processes together under a more unified approach.

With around 400 employees across multiple locations, this is an organisation with ambitious plans, strong values and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference.

They're looking for a confident, commercially minded HR Manager who can bring people along on that journey.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit purely at a strategic level. It's a brilliant mix of hands-on operational HR, people leadership and meaningful transformation projects, with plenty of opportunity to influence how things are done.

What's the role?

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll lead an established People function of four, supporting managers and colleagues across a diverse, multisite organisation.

The role is roughly a 50/50 split between operational HR and strategic improvement, so no two days are likely to look quite the same!

A big part of the challenge will be bridging the gap between HR policies and what actually happens in practice. That means building relationships with managers, giving them the confidence to tackle people issues early and helping create a more consistent, proactive approach to HR.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supporting and developing a team of four HR and People professionals.
  • Managing complex employee relations matters, providing practical advice and guidance to managers.
  • Building strong relationships with senior leaders and operational managers across multiple locations.
  • Supporting the organisation through a period of change, bringing greater consistency to HR policies, processes and ways of working.
  • Leading projects around pay and grading structures, performance management and career development pathways.
  • Coaching managers to handle people matters confidently, fairly and proactively.
  • Overseeing recruitment, workforce planning, safeguarding-related compliance and the wider employee lifecycle.
  • Using people data, feedback and insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Helping shape a positive, supportive and high-performing workplace culture.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for an experienced HR professional who can see the bigger picture but isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.

Someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a changing environment and knows how to balance the needs of employees with the commercial realities of running a business.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Strong generalist HR experience at HR Manager, Senior HR Business Partner or a similar level.
  • Excellent employee relations knowledge, including experience managing complex cases.
  • Experience leading or developing an HR team.
  • A background working across multiple sites or business units.
  • Experience implementing HR improvements, managing change or delivering people-related projects.
  • The confidence to influence, challenge and support managers at all levels.
  • A good understanding of employment law, safeguarding and compliance within regulated environments.
  • CIPD Level 5 or above, with relevant professional membership.

Experience within social care, education, healthcare or another regulated sector would be particularly welcome, but the right attitude, transferable experience and ability to drive positive change are just as important.

What kind of person will thrive here?

This organisation has the heart of a purpose-led business alongside the energy and ambition of a growing commercial operation.

They need someone who is adaptable, approachable and solutions-focused. Someone who can build trust quickly, challenge constructively and make things happen without needing layers of process or endless resources.

If you've worked in a growing organisation, helped bring teams or businesses together, or introduced better ways of working while keeping the day-to-day running smoothly, this could be a fantastic next step.

What's in it for you?

  • Salary of circa Β£60,000.
  • Hybrid working, with a base in Caerphilly.
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • An additional day off for your birthday.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • An established team to lead and develop.
  • Genuine scope to influence the direction of the People function.
  • The opportunity to deliver meaningful projects rather than simply maintain existing processes.
  • A values-led organisation where the work has a positive impact on people's lives.
