New opportunity for an experienced Business & Office Manager to join a growing business in Portishead. 4 days to be office based, 1 remote. This is a key role within a small organisation, combining office management, executive support and hands-on finance and HR administration. You’ll be the central point of coordination for the business, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly while providing high-level support to the CEO. This is a broad and varied position that would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, working across multiple disciplines and being the person who keeps everything organised, accurate and on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive Support
    • Diary management and administrative support for the CEO
    • Coordinating meetings, agendas, presentations and follow-up actions
    • Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external communications
  • Finance & Operations (Essential Focus)
    • Managing bookkeeping, invoicing and payment processing using Xero
    • Monitoring accounts, cash flow and financial records
    • Running payroll and supporting monthly finance processes
    • Timesheet management, reporting and reconciliation
    • Supporting external accountants and financial providers
  • HR Administration
    • Supporting onboarding and induction for new starters
    • Managing employment contracts and HR documentation
    • Coordinating with external HR support where required
  • Office & Business Management
    • Overseeing office operations, supplies and facilities
    • Liaising with IT and external suppliers to ensure smooth running of systems
    • Organising internal meetings, quarterly planning sessions and reporting packs
    • Ensuring business insurance, contracts and compliance documents are up to date
    • Providing general administrative support across the team

About You

You will be highly organised, calm under pressure and confident managing a wide range of responsibilities. You’ll enjoy working in a central operational role where accuracy, reliability and initiative are essential. You will ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in an Office Manager, Business Manager, Operations Coordinator or Executive Assistant role
  • Strong finance administration experience, including invoicing, bookkeeping and payroll
  • Confidence using Xero or similar accounting software
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • A proactive, dependable and professional attitude
