We’re working with an ambitious, high-growth technology business to find an experienced Head of Strategic Partnerships & Business Development. The role is mostly remote, but you will need to attend offices in Bristol and London from time to time, as well as meet clients who could be based anywhere in the UK.
This is a senior commercial role for someone who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities and turning conversations into long-term partnerships. You’ll lead a team of three and take ownership of the partnerships strategy, developing new business, growing existing partnerships and working closely with Product and Engineering to bring new partnership opportunities to life.
If you enjoy operating across commercial, product and technology teams, and can see the bigger picture while still rolling your sleeves up to win new business, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for.
The role
- You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering the partnerships strategy, with a strong focus on identifying new commercial opportunities and building a pipeline of prospective partners.
- Research and target organisations that are the right fit, open conversations with senior decision-makers, pitch partnership opportunities, negotiate commercial agreements and build long-term relationships that deliver value for everyone involved.
- Alongside winning new business, you’ll work with existing partners to identify opportunities for growth and ensure partnerships continue to perform commercially.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to understand the product, contribute ideas around new partnership opportunities and help shape solutions that work from both a commercial and technical perspective.
- Lead and develop a team of three, creating a collaborative environment where people are supported, challenged and able to do their best work.
About you
- A strong background in strategic partnerships, commercial partnerships or business development within a technology, SaaS, software or fintech business.
- Know how to build a target list, open doors, develop relationships, pitch compelling propositions and negotiate commercial agreements.
- You’ll enjoy the challenge of winning new business but also recognise the value of developing existing partnerships over the long term.
- Be comfortable working across commercial, product and technical teams, bringing people together to create partnerships that are commercially successful and practical to deliver.
- Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who combines confidence with humility. You’ll enjoy sharing ideas, asking questions and challenging constructively, while always being open to different perspectives and focused on finding the best solution.
Why apply?
This is an opportunity to join a business where partnerships are central to future growth. You’ll have the freedom to shape the strategy, influence key commercial decisions, work closely with senior leaders and make a genuine impact as the business continues to grow.
