MOWALOLA is seeking an experienced freelance Pattern Cutter to join during an intensive development period asap. This is a short-term contract (approximately one month, with potential flexibility depending on project requirements) supporting the development of upcoming collections.
We are looking for a highly skilled pattern cutter with strong luxury womenswear experience and confidence working on Flou, primarily using jersey, organza and stretch fabrications. The ideal candidate will be able to translate design concepts into production-ready patterns while collaborating closely with the design and atelier teams.
Key Responsibilities- Create first patterns from sketches, references, and draped toiles.
- Develop and refine patterns through multiple fit stages.
- Work closely with designers and machinists to achieve desired silhouettes and proportions.
- Amend and grade patterns where required.
- Prepare patterns for sampling and production handover.
- Support fittings and provide technical solutions throughout development.
- Proven experience in luxury womenswear pattern cutting.
- Strong draping and creative pattern-cutting skills.
- Excellent understanding of stretch fabrics, jersey, organza, and other lightweight or technical materials.
- Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
- Experience working with complex, fashion-forward silhouettes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
