Movera are looking for a Senior Risk & Regulation Manager to join the business at an exciting time of growth. This is a newly created role, reflecting our continued expansion and focus on strengthening our second-line enterprise risk management, regulatory governance, and financial crime frameworks across the Group. In this role, you will lead the firm’s second-line risk and regulatory function, providing independent oversight and strategic challenge to ensure that legal, regulatory, and operational risks are effectively managed and work closely with senior colleagues across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the firm’s regulatory horizon scanning, identifying emerging trends and translating supervisory expectations into clear governance structures and operational controls.
- Maintain ownership of core conduct and risk policies, ensuring frameworks for risk appetite, conflicts of interest, and emerging technology governance (AI) remain aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee group licensing and professional accreditations, managing the firm’s relationship with the SRA, CQS, and maintaining lender panel and Panel Link requirements.
- Act as the principal risk interface with external legal counsel and professional indemnity insurance brokers, supporting the management of legal risk exposures and insurance claims.
- Serve as policy lead for AML and financial crime, designing frameworks for client due diligence (KYC), source of wealth verification, and sanctions screening.
- Maintain the operational risk management framework, developing risk registers, control libraries, and tracking operational loss events and near-miss incidents.
- Provide real-time risk challenge and guidance to operational teams on complex or high-risk decisions, including undertakings and lender policy exceptions.
- Deliver strategic risk and regulatory reporting to senior leadership, ensuring a proactive and transparent approach to risk management and regulatory credibility.

- Enterprise Risk Management – Strong experience developing risk management frameworks, including risk registers, controls, and risk appetite structures.
- Regulatory Governance – In-depth knowledge of UK legal sector regulation, including SRA requirements, lender panel governance, and accreditation standards.
- Financial Crime & AML Oversight – Comprehensive understanding of AML regulatory frameworks and financial crime risk within transactional legal services.
- Policy & Governance Frameworks – Experience designing complex policy frameworks that translate regulatory obligations into practical operational controls.
- Operational Risk & Controls – Ability to design and oversee frameworks that monitor and mitigate risks across large, complex operational environments.
- Strategic Insight – Ability to interpret regulatory developments and industry trends to inform long-term risk management approaches.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Strong capability to engage with and influence senior leadership, regulators, insurers, and professional advisers.
- Analytical & Problem Solving – Highly analytical, with the ability to evaluate complex risk scenarios and identify emerging threats early.
- Communication – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex regulatory matters clearly to diverse audiences.
