We are working with an insurtech company that is redefining how consumers experience insurance in the digital age. Their mission is to simplify and personalise the insurance journey, leveraging modern technology, intuitive design, and deep industry insight to deliver standout experiences particularly in the automotive and mobility sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Own Data Infrastructure: Design and maintain cloud-native architecture on AWS (ECS, ECR, RDS, Redshift, API Gateway, EC2, networking).
- Build Data Pipelines: Develop scalable, reliable pipelines and workflows using Python and orchestration tools.
- Develop Services: Build APIs with FastAPI, lightweight front ends, and integrate modelling techniques including LLMs.
- Infrastructure as Code: Use Terraform to manage infrastructure for consistency, security, and scalability.
Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of hands-on experience in both Data Engineering and backend development roles.
- Proficient in Python, capable of writing clean, modular, and maintainable code.
- Experienced with Infrastructure as Code, particularly using Terraform, and comfortable deploying and managing infrastructure via IaC principles.
- Strong analytical thinker with a knack for working through messy, unstructured data, digging into root causes, and pinpointing optimisation opportunities.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including ECS, EC2, ECR, RDS, Redshift, S3, API Gateway, as well as networking and load balancing components.
- Solid command of SQL and core database concepts, including indexing strategies, schema design, and working with columnar data stores.
- Advanced skills in designing and managing data pipelines, including ELT and ETL processes.
