In our mission to stop men dying too young, we’re seeking a passionate Research Fellow - Gender Responsive Healthcare to join our London based team on a 2 Year Max-Term Contract.

About the role

The Research Fellow in Gender Responsive Healthcare (or Health Systems) situated within the Movember Institute of Men’s Health is responsible for co-establishing a research agenda and program of research that serves to strengthen the evidence base and thus rationale for investment in systems wide uptake of gender responsive healthcare for men, including healthcare practitioner education initiatives and program initiatives, being led by the Gender Responsive Healthcare Portfolio.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Design (and co-design with partners), conduct or oversee/guide research studies and projects related to gender responsive healthcare for men, employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods (incl. longitudinal).
  • Collaborate with other Movember cross-functional staff across research, advocacy, partnerships and marketing to develop research proposals, ethics submissions as well as secure partnership funding.
  • Prepare research reports, academic papers, and other knowledge products for publication in reputable journals and presentations at conferences.
  • Take a leading role in managing research projects, ensuring timelines, objectives, and deliverables are met.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and developments in the field of men’s health, gender responsive healthcare for men and practitioner education.
  • Communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders, policymakers, and the public through relevant conferences, workshops and other channels, including social media, traditional media and public events.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior researchers, research assistants, and any students involved in the research projects facilitating skill development and capacity-building.
  • Work with the broader research team to translate findings and upskill cross-functional staff at Movember on research projects and outcomes.
  • Act as a public spokesperson and leader in gender responsive healthcare for men research.
  • Ensure that best practice knowledge translation plans are developed and integrated into all research projects.
  • Support annual reporting on the progress and impact of our men’s health research.
  • Work with monitoring and evaluation team to integrate data into broader impact reports to meet organizational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal governance and reporting requirements.

For this role, you’ll need:

  • Completed Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., medical or health sciences, psychology, public health, social sciences).
  • Expertise in designing and conducting research in men’s health with direct relevance to gender responsive healthcare.
  • Experience projects with multiple stakeholders desired.
  • Publication record in the field and experience in academic writing of papers, report and successful grant applications.
  • Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, data analysis, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R).
  • Proven experience in project management, including planning, coordination, and monitoring of research projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex research findings to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
