Men are dying too young – and it doesn’t have to be that way. Around the world, men are facing a health crisis: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and suicide. Movember is on a mission to change the face of men’s health by making it easier for men to talk, act and live longer healthier lives.
As an Impact Communications Manager, UK & Europe, you’ll lead the communications that bring Movember’s programmatic work to life, primarily across mental health in sport and policy and advocacy. You’ll translate research, programme delivery and policy priorities into compelling narratives that build Movember’s credibility, reach and influence across the region.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Communications & PR UK & Europe, the role focuses on supporting Movember Ahead of the Game and the broader Sports Health Initiative, and driving communications that advance Movember’s policy and advocacy agenda in the UK and Europe.
Responsibilities
- Develop year‑round communications plans.
- Build and manage relationships with partner communications teams.
- Secure thought leadership and media opportunities.
- Work closely with PR, content and marketing colleagues to ensure integration and brand consistency.
- Showcase the reach of Ahead of the Game through case studies, videos and imagery.
- Communicate government announcements and drive public‑facing advocacy campaigns.
- Contribute to cross‑programme storytelling connecting sport, policy, cancer and broader impact narratives.
- Collaborate with internal teams, delivery partners, implementation partners and agency partners to ensure local communications activity aligns with global strategy while resonating with UK and European audiences.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in communications, PR or content roles, ideally within a complex or purpose‑led organisation.
- Strong understanding of the UK media landscape, including established relationships across sport, political and health media.
- Excellent knowledge of the political and policy environment and the sports media and industry landscape, with the ability to identify relevant storytelling opportunities and influence.
- Strong examples of working with policy makers and thought leaders to gain policy‑focused coverage.
- Experience developing programme, impact or campaign storytelling, translating complex information, research or policy into clear, compelling narratives.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to develop high‑quality content across a range of formats, from reactive statements to thought leadership and long‑form materials.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with high attention to detail.
- Ability to think strategically while also delivering at pace, balancing big‑picture thinking with hands‑on execution.
- Strong interview preparation and messaging skills, supporting spokespeople to deliver with clarity and impact.
- Ability to make sound decisions quickly and confidently in a fast‑moving environment.
- Highly organised, with strong experience managing timelines, budgets and reporting across multiple projects.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across internal teams, partners and external organisations.
