Principal Utilities Engineer/Manager - Sustainability
Key responsibilities
- Lead reliable provision and optimisation of utilities including water, electricity, gas, HVAC, compressed air, chilled water and process systems.
- Identify and deliver improvements that reduce cost, consumption and emissions while improving resilience and supporting future growth.
- Maintain electrical safety and compliance across UK manufacturing sites as Electrical Duty Holder and Senior Electrical Authority.
- Produce utility usage, cost saving, compliance and sustainability reports for internal stakeholders and external obligations including ESOS.
- Work with engineering, maintenance, EHS, production, finance, vendors and leadership teams to deliver continuous improvement.
- Coach technical staff and promote safe, efficient utility use across operations.
- Travel
- Regular travel between Hampshire sites, with occasional off-site meetings, conferences or vendor visits.
About you
- Strong experience in utilities, facilities management or engineering
- Proven ability to improve utility performance using data, technology, process optimisation and stakeholder engagement.
- Electrical safety and compliance expertise, ideally across multi-site operations.
- Experience leading projects, managing budgets, working with contractors and supporting technical teams.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and leadership skills.
Qualifications and experience
- Previous experience in facilities management, utility operations or a related field.
- Engineering, facilities management or related qualification preferred.
- Project management and electrical safety certification would be preferred.
