Mechanical Fitter – Contract Are you a hands-on Mechanical Fitter with experience in industrial equipment? We are looking for a contract Mechanical Fitter to carry out installation, servicing, maintenance and remedial works on mechanical process equipment, predominantly within the wastewater industry. You will work at operational treatment sites across the UK. What you’ll be doing ● Mechanical installation and assembly of equipment. ● Planned servicing and preventative maintenance. ● Reactive maintenance and remedial works. ● Removal and replacement of mechanical components. ● Dismantling and reassembly of equipment for inspection, repair or servicing. ● Working with motors, chains, sprockets, seals and other mechanical components. ● Drilling, cutting, grinding and general mechanical fitting. ● Safe and competent use of hand and power tools. ● Identifying mechanical defects and assisting with fault finding. ● Working from drawings, instructions and RAMS. ● Working around existing operational plant and equipment. ● Confined space working where required and appropriately trained. ● General site set-up, housekeeping and packing down on completion of works. Travel and working away The role involves regular travel to customer sites across the UK and working away from home, potentially for several nights at a time. What you’ll bring You will bring hands-on mechanical fitting experience, ideally gained within the water or wastewater sector. A strong industrial mechanical background will also be considered. You will also need: ● Full UK Driving Licence ● Confined Space – Medium Risk ● Critical Medical Certificate ● Appropriate vaccinations for working within the wastewater industry ● CSCS Card
